Huddle, Meet, Go

Jan 12, 2018

In the age of connectivity, meetings are not hindered by location. The flexible workplace has now been adopted by many businesses in Australia and it’s working. Employees are happier, productivity is up, and it’s actually reducing waste and environmental footprint.

Workplace design has also been challenged with office interiors being reworked to carry off the trend. This has incorporated hot-desking, open-plan workspaces with multiple smaller meeting rooms, replacing or adding to the large boardroom. These petite meeting rooms, now coined the “Huddle Room”, allow for short, frequent and spontaneous meetings, but can often be missing a key element – the right technology to connect with your remote colleagues.

Up until now, the conferencing devices in these huddle rooms have been scaled-down versions of large boardroom systems or have nothing at all, offering a subpar conferencing experience to users. Logitech has therefore expanded its offerings in the business conferencing market, and launched a purpose-built premier conference camera specifically designed for huddle rooms, the Logitech MeetUp.

MeetUp’s 120-degree field of view and UltraHD 4K optics make every seat at the table clearly visible during a meeting, without any fisheye lens distortion. From the minute details on the whiteboard you are presenting to what shoes you are wearing, the person on the other side of the conference can see everything through MeetUp. Sorry, no more Anchorman days.

MeetUp also comes with integrated audio optimised for huddle room spaces, delivering an exceptional sound experience. The three sound-isolating mics and a voice-optimised speaker help ensure everyone is heard as clearly as they are seen.

Ease-of-use is a key factor for video adoption in these rooms. MeetUp is USB plug-and-play and designed to work right out of the box with virtually any conferencing softwares and cloud services, making it the ideal companion for any small meeting area.

To make your conferences even smoother, Logitech also introduced its ConferenceCam Soft Remote, a free app that easily turns an Android or iOS smartphone or tablet into a remote control for MeetUp.

With more companies adopting flexible work arrangements and moving to open-plan offices, the demand for well-equipped huddle rooms is skyrocketing. It is important for companies to evaluate their current setup and equip their staff with the right tools.
