Stop. Collaborate. And listen – to the stats.

Feb 1, 2019

UCC has become a valuable tool for enterprise, fusing the best elements of conference calls such as text, audio, video and virtual whiteboards into one interface. Because of the power of UCC, businesses are flocking to the technology with recent reports revealing that demand has risen by 71 per cent over the last 12 months.

According to the recent Integrate Industry Report, business spending on UCC technology came in at an average of $552,000 – behind only infrastructure hardware and audio systems and equipment. Almost 90 per cent of respondents agreed that this spending would rise over the next five years as well.

This presents opportunity for AV installers in two ways. Firstly, there is scope for greater spend on UCC solutions by business, education and home sectors. But secondly, they will also require the hardware and network solutions capable of accommodating these powerful UCC solutions.

Enterprises that have invested in UCC technology

Major enterprises are putting significant time and investment into UCC solutions that will change the way we communicate.

Cisco, for example, has the Webex Board which integrates with SAP Digital Boardroom to create a team collaboration device that combines wireless presentation, digital whiteboarding, and video conferencing.

It uses cloud technology, touch interfaces and the security needed to connect people in different office spaces – even if they are on opposite ends of the planet.

Industry giants Microsoft has also fused its Skype for Business video conferencing software with its suite of Office programs, allowing the integration of spreadsheets, documents, graphics and Powerpoint presentations.

And Avaya continues to be a leader in this space with more than 90 per cent of Fortune 100 companies using their services. Avaya has 139 million UC lines deployed with customers globally through their voice, messaging and team collaboration and conferencing and meetings products.

Integrate exhibitors introducing UCC

Ingram Micro was an Integrate exhibitor in 2018 and they have a host of UCC solutions suitable for AV installers to meet end user requirements. Their vast range of products including backup and recovery, collaboration, communication, data centre, email and intranet hosting, hosted emails, unified communications and web conferencing solutions.

Their solutions include hardware and software sourced from the best providers across the globe to tailor solutions for every end users needs.

Logitech was another exhibitor last year MeetUp All-in-One ConferenceCam, which includes a 120 degree field of view and integrated audio. This device is perfect for small conference and huddle rooms and delivers high resolution, colour balance, detail and audio for tight spaces.

Australia’s premier annual AV trade show Integrate presents an invaluable opportunity for those in the industry to collaborate and learn about the next waves of innovation.

Integrate brings the industry’s top AV and IT manufacturers, distributors and dealers together for exhibitions, learning from keynote speakers, interactive innovation displays and the chance to network with over 6000 others from the industry in attendance.
