Jon Settingsgard has been with Daktronics since 2006 and is currently located in Shanghai, China. He is the product manager for indoor and outdoor video products. In this role, he is responsible for directing product development from global market research, establishing product quality standards, ensuring product manufacturability across multiple locations worldwide, and creating sales tools/techniques to train and support salespeople.
Jon manages an extensive portfolio of product lines, including Indoor, Outdoor, and Semi-outdoor Video Displays, Linear Advertising Displays, Hanging Banners, and numerous custom applications.
Recently, his development efforts have heavily focused on sustainability and green technology, leading to the integration of ECOSMART energy-efficient solutions across these product lines to successfully reduce display power consumption by at least 50%.
Prior to his current role, Jon was based at Daktronics headquarters, where he served as the product manager for the ProPixel product line, spearheading efforts to maximize product value streams and ensure long-term profitability while maintaining strict quality standards. Before managing the ProPixel line, he worked within the Video Products Engineering department, where he managed intellectual property files.
Jon earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University (NDSU) in Fargo, North Dakota. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from NDSU.
