AETM Member School Presentation | Why AV Standards Matter: Our Journey Standardising AV

Sep 02 2026

8:40 AM - 9:15 AM

Trinity Grammar School’s AV environment once consisted of a diverse mix of standalone systems spread across three campuses, more than 100 classrooms, and over 25 specialist venues. Limited standardisation, inconsistent user experiences, and a lack of centralised monitoring made support and future planning challenging. Following the integration of the AV team into ICT in 2020, the school undertook a comprehensive review of its technology environment, establishing a clear standards framework focused on reliability, simplicity, and functionality.

This session explores Trinity’s journey towards a standardised, networked AV ecosystem, including the development of an AV Standards document, the deployment of a dedicated AV network supporting more than 500 devices, and the adoption of a streamlined technology stack. Attendees will learn how standardisation has improved reliability, simplified support, enabled better remote monitoring, and positioned AV as a strategic enabler of teaching and learning rather than simply a reactive support service.
