The Wingaru project at Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview delivered a significant uplift in audio visual capability as part of a new five-storey STEM and student services building. The facility incorporates six house areas, four staff rooms, a senior student canteen, flexible event and presentation spaces, science laboratories, general learning areas, and design & technology workshops.
The project provided an opportunity to establish new AV standards across the College, transitioning from a legacy FrontRow environment to a standardised Crestron ecosystem designed to improve consistency, simplify support, and provide a scalable foundation for future developments.
This case study explores the AV journey from tender and solution selection through to construction, commissioning, and handover. Key themes include stakeholder engagement, accessibility and hearing augmentation, design decisions that balanced educational outcomes with operational requirements, and lessons learned from delivering AV systems within a major capital works project.
The result is a future-focused technology environment that enhances teaching and learning, improves the user experience for staff and students, and establishes a framework for the ongoing evolution of AV across the College.
