Preparing for data driven AV
AV spaces have typically been designed based on preexisting assumptions of how it will be used and when the technology is refreshed, newer versions of the same features are installed. By gathering data on how the space is used, valuable information about the needs of the organization can be derived in order to make the space more effective and increase the return on investment of the space.
It’s good enough – convenience technology versus quality

Converged AV and IoT – delivering the user experience!
The AV industry is currently awash with AoIP (Anything over IP) devices. Dante and AES67 are the go to options for audio; and video has H.264, Jpeg2000 and a number of proprietary based options. All these protocols will work on standard network infrastructure, but is that our end game? Or do we want to really disrupt to the traditional AV industry and deliver features and benefits that the users of today demand? In this session we will look at why AV has been constrained and discuss how Converged AV can deliver an experience that current day users expect.
Increasing collaboration: How to implement effective huddle rooms
As smaller collaborative spaces migrate into the mainstream, the emergence of huddle spaces has begun to shift the way employees, teams, and entire organizations collaborate. Initially observed within the IT industry, this new unified communications trend is now permeating every aspect of business. Led by the ability to leverage soft codecs, huddle rooms are starting to provide important economies of scale. By extending the desktop experience, they eliminate the need for any additional training or supplementary security protocols as members move seamlessly between workspaces. To transform cubicle-based/open-floor plans into more collaborative spaces, this presentation will outline the audio solutions, video hardware, design considerations, and integration best practices behind today’s most successful huddle room installations. This will include methods for web and video conferencing that mimic the authenticity of face-to-face interactions and how installers can maintain both biometric and encryption security protocols sometimes needed within the enterprise space.
How to design software – defined video over ethernet systems
Launched only a year ago at ISE 2017 by a founding group including Christie Digital, NETGEAR and Sony, the SDVoE Alliance is the fastest growing technology consortium in pro AV, and the only industry body driving standardization in AV over IP. Come learn what progress the alliance has made and how its core technology benefits designers, programmers and end users by offering lower cost, fewer points of failure, and expanded and more flexible capabilities than traditional AV distribution systems.
