Pernille Christensen

Pernille H. Christensen is a Senior Lecturer teaching in the Master of Planning, Master of Property Development and Bachelor of Property Economics programs at the University of Technology Sydney with over 20 years of experience in the built environment, domestically and internationally.
Using a multi-disciplinary approach, her research has centered around various aspects of urban sustainability and resilience, with particular focus on developing frameworks for improved, evidence-based decision-making and more robust adaptation and mitigation strategies to improve community resilience to social and environmental disruptions and the role that the built environment plays in helping cities to meet targets in this area. Recent research projects investigated the role of the built environment in protecting people in crowded places, and developed a framework for integrating best practice protective security risk assessment and mitigation into the property development process.
