Dean is a long-time advocate for the migration of AV to the ICT domain. This approach allows AV designers, users and owners to leverage the many tools that the ICT world take for granted, these allow greater support, scalability, functionality, and lifecycle management. Unfortunately, without a thorough understanding of the AV/IT architecture, this can be problematic when it comes to network bandwidth, traffic flow and of course the security aspects of the deployment. He believes that education of AV and ICT professionals and good communication is key for AV to mature in this new domain.
