ANSI/InfoComm 5 Display Image Size for 2D Content in Audiovisual Systems

DISCAS (ANSI/InfoComm V202.01) has finally arrived. Our industry now has an international standard that properly defines image size and viewing angles, allowing us to move on from rules of thumb like 4/6/8. The new standard provides a sound framework for the design of viewing environments, considering their intended use and the level of detail to be resolved. This framework also simplifies qualification of existing spaces to assist with better scheduling of resources. This FlashTrack session will demystify DISCAS by helping attendees understand the basics of the framework. Those attending this short session should gain the confidence to start applying the standard for the benefit of their clients.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) - What you need to know to get it right

Pro AV gear is all digital now, and many devices are moving towards being powered over the cabling that connects it, removing the need for electrical power. While it presents excellent deployment, operational and cost advantages, there are some serious safety and performance issues that must be understood before deploying it. This presentation will address the important cabling aspects to successfully deploy PoE devices.
